As an author himself he spent 6 months researching the challenges around publishing and the process for submission, review and feedback of book ideas. He spoke to authors and publishers and literary agents. He read articles and scanned blogs and Facebook writers groups. The results lead him to the conclusion that the whole process was fundamentally broken. Publishers and literary agents were swamped with submission – many of which were of poor quality or sent to them in error – and writers were frustrated by a process that took a ridiculously long time and often ended with rejection and no reason for it.

It was time for a change. Taking his expertise in process and IT project management he built a team of people to pull together an operation that not only create a digital platform for the submissions process but to ensure that there was value for both publishers, agents and authors.

MyManuscripts is the result.  Norm aims to make this the go-to platform for understanding, submitting, reviewing and managing book submissions.
